October 4, 2009 at Guildford Golf & Country Club
The final tournament of the season and the windup Banquet was held on Oct. 4th at the Guildford Golf Club with a field of 41 members and guests in attendance.
The field was split into 3 Divisions, the Masters, the Players and a Guest Division. The winner of the Masters Division was Ken Emerson winning in a tiebreaker over Jun De Chavez. The Players Division was won by Baljit Dhaliwal with a 2 stroke edge over Steve Beckett. In the Guest Divison, Donna Duncan took the top spot in a tiebreaker over Paul Dhaliwal.

The 2009 Players of the Year were awarded with Jun De Chavez taking the Mens title and Norma De Chavez repeating as the Ladies top player, congratulations to both Jun and Norma.
The other annual awards went to Alvaro Urrati and Marie Lafleur for the Most Improved Players of the Year in both the Mens and Ladies Divisions, and Jun De Chavez and Norma De Chavez for the Scoring Average Leader.

September 20, 2009 at Poppy Estates
Poppy Estates Golf Club was the site for the September 20th tournament with a field of 36 members and guests entered. Even with the sunny and warm weather and the good scoring conditions only 10 players managed to post rounds of par or better.
In the Masters Division, Rudy Alcantara recorded 9 pars and 2 birdies on his way to a slim 1 shot victory over Tom Nakatsuka. In the Players Division, Baljit Dhaliwal shot a round of 91, net 56, to also take a 1 shot advantage over Alvaro Urrutia. This was Rudy's and Baljit's first wins of the season, both winning $90 for their efforts.
With just 1 tournament left to go in the season Jun De Chavez leads the Mens Player of the Year standings with 161 pts. with Mario Sandoval 8.5 pts. back with 152.5 pts. With a possible 23 points for the winner next week both Jun and Mario both have an opportunity to take the overall title.
The Ladies Division is all but assured to go to Norma De Chavez. She leads the standings with 82.5 points with her nearest rival 19.5 pts. back.

Tsawwassen Golf Club was the site for week #13 of the 2009 schedule with a field of 24 entered. With the windy and cooler conditions only 4 players managed to come in with scores of par or better. JoJo Hernandez turned in the best round of the day with a 69, net 63, with 12 pars and 1 birdie on his round. His 63 was good enough to take the Masters Division by 2 strokes over Norma De Chavez. In the Players Division, Richard Christie shot a round of net 59 to take the top spot by 6 shots over Dean Heidman.
In the race for the Player of the Year honours, Jun De Chavez holds on to a 4.5 point lead over Mario Sandoval with 2 tournaments remaining. On the Ladies side, Norma sits atop the standings with 74 points, 17 up on Sai Meagher.

August 23, 2009 at Newlands Golf Club
The August 23rd tournament at Newlands Golf Club saw a field of 20 members tee it up for week 12 of the season. With good scoring conditions 4 players were able to card scores of par or better.
In the Masters Division, Donn Yan took the title with a 2 stroke win over Jun De Chavez, Donn carded a round of 89, net 70, with 4 pars on the day. In the Players Division, Alvaro Urratia got his first win of the year with a 3 shot victory over Brad Heidman, Alvaro carded a round of net 64 including 5 pars. Both Don and Alvaro received the winners pot of $47.50 for their victories.
In the race for Player of the Year honours, Jun De Chavez holds down the top spot in the Mens Division with 137 pts. with Mario Sandoval close behind with 132.5. In the Ladies Division, Norma De Chavez has a comfortable lead atop the standings with 67 pts. with Sai Meagher in 2nd with 51.

August 9, 2009 at Surrey Golf Course
Surrey Golf Club was the site for the August 9th tournament with a field of 22 members and guests entered. Scoring conditions were good with 7 players posting scores of par or better. In the Masters Division Ken Emerson took the top spot with a 1 shot victory over Jun De Chavez, this was Ken's 2nd win of the year. In the Players Division, Mario Sandoval got his 3rd win with a 2 stroke victory over Sai Meagher. Both Mario and Ken won $55 for their victories.

July 26, 2009 at Delta Golf Course
Delta Golf Club was the site for the July 26th tournament with a field of 27 members and guests taking part. This week saw 2 first time winners take the top spots in both the Masters and Players Divisions. Brad Heidman took the title in the Masters Division with a score of net 58, and a 4 stroke advantage over runner-up Brian Gong. In the Players Division, Marcial Victorioso top the field with a score of net 56, 9 shots better than his closest rival Dean Heidman. Both Dean and Marcial earned $70 for their victories.

July 12, 2009 at Poppy Estate
This weekends tournament attracted a field of 28 members and guests to the Poppy Estates Golf Club. The low round for the day was turned in by Jun De Chavez with a score of 72 with 8 pars and 1 birdie. The winner of the Masters Division was Sandy Sandoval with a score of net 63 taking the title by 1 stroke over Jun. In the Players Division, Vickie Carracedo took the top spot in a tiebreaker over Dave Thompson and Sai Meagher, all had scores of net 68.
A special Guests Division was added for this tournament with Dave Hollinshead taking the title, all the Division winners each received $50 for their wins.

June 28, 2009 at Coyote Creek
Coyote Creek Golf Club was the site for week #8 of the season with a field of 22 members entered. With the good weather and fine playing conditions 11 players carded rounds of par or better. Jojo Hernandez turned in the best round of the day with a round of 74 including 7 pars and 1 birdie.
Sandy Sandoval got his 2nd win of the year taking the Masters Division by 1 stroke over Donn Yan and Eddy Ma. Sandy carded a score of 81, net 61, with 6 pars along the way.
In the Players Division, Marissa Victorioso also got her 2nd win of the season with a commanding 7 shot victory of Marietta Salazar. Marissa's round of 91, net 57, included 4 pars.
Jun De Chavez continues to lead the Player of the Year standings with 98.5 pts. with Mario Sandoval only 6.5 pts. back. In the Ladies standings Norma De Chavez leads the way with 43 pts. with Sai Meagher only 8.5 pts. back and Marissa 9 pts. behind.

A field of 24 teed it up June 14th at the Carnoustie Golf Club for week #7 of the season, under warm and sunny conditions. Despite a double bogey on the 18th hole, Donn Yan held on to take the Masters Division by 1 stroke over Eddy Ma. Donn came in with a 2 under par 69 to get his first win of the year. In the Players Division, Steve Beckett got his first win as a member of the club on a round of 74. Steve took the title by 3 shots over Dave Thompson.
Donn and Steve each took home the winners pot of $60.00 each.

May 31, 2009 at Tsawwassen
Tsawwassen Golf Club was the site for the May 31st Tournament with a field of 28 members entered. Both Divisions went to tiebreakers to decide the winners with Gord Bolli taking the Masters Division over Norma Chavez, both players carded scores of net 59. In the Players Division Mario Sandoval recorded his 2nd win of the year with his tiebreaker victory over Sai Meagher, both Mario and Sai carded scores of net 61. Both Mario and Gord recieved the winners pot of $70 each.
Top point earners this week were Gord Bolli with 18 followed by Jun De Chavez and Mario with 16.5 pts. each, Jun continues to lead the way in the Player of the Year standings with 80 points. On the Ladies side Norma De Chavez took top points of 7 with Sai Meagher earning 6 points, Norma leads the Ladies Division with 35 points followed closely behind by Sai with 29.5

May 24, 2009 at Guildford
The Guildford Golf Club was the site for week # 5 on the 2009 schedule with a field of 28 members and guests competing. In the "Masters" Division Ken Emerson got his first win of the year with a round of net 67, 1 stroke better than runner-up Gord Bolli. Ken's round included 7 pars and 1 birdie for the day. In the "Players" Division Mario Sandoval carded a round of net 68 to take the title by 2 shots over Evelina Torres and Sai Meagher, this was also Mario's first win of 2009. Both Ken and Mario earned first place money of $70 for the efforts.
The low round of the day was turned in by Jun Chavez with a score of 81 including 12 pars on his round.

Week # 4 of the season was held this past Sunday at the Carnoustie Golf Club, this was our first time playing this course with 24 members and guests taking advantage of the excellent weather and playing conditions. The Masters Division was won by JoJo Hernandez with a round of 81, net 68, and a 4 shot advantage over runner-up Gord Boli. In the Players Division Eddy Ma shot a round of 90, net 64, to take the top spot over Brad Heidman by 4 strokes.

The Coyote Creek Golf Club was the site for our 3rd tournament of the season on Sunday May 3rd with a field of 27 members taking part. The weatherman cooperated with warm and dry conditions making for an enjoyable day of golf for everyone.

Opening Day, April 5, 2008 at Delta Golf Course
We started the day bright and early at 9 a.m. with a breakfast meeting and Meet and Greet.
The weather was a bit chilly to start, but it warmed up as the day progressed. We had 23 members play today.
